Thirty six trees have been planted along the canal this weekend between locks 3 and 12. They have been chosen to provide splendid colour in Spring and Autumn after detailed consultation with the experts at Bridgemere.

The trees are a mixture of flowering cherry, mountain ash, hawthorn, crab apple and American oak. With the hawthorn and damson trees already widespread along the canal between Audlem village centre and Bagley Lane, there should be a splendid show of blossom and Autumn colour for years to come. Thousands of bulbs have also been planted in the last week.
