Audlem Canal & River Trust Towpath Taskforce events took place on Wednesday 18th May and Wednesday 25th May.

On Wednesday the 18th we completed a refresh and tidy up of Lock 13 of the flight. On Wednesday the 25th we concentrated on tidying up the immediate area of the Wharf, Mill and adjacent embankment in readiness for the busy music festival week end at Audlem.

The work, focusing on improvements to customer and visitor experience, was done prior to us being rained off late evening. We left the area looking tidy and pleasing to the eye.

The work completed:

  • Refresh of the paint work on Lock 13 balance beams.
  • Removed weeds and edged grass surface along the wharf
  • Cut back overhanging vegetation along the access road
  • Removed weeds from the edge of the road and the Mill
  • Swept surfaces outside the Shroppie Fly, Mill and Wharf
