Audlem Tourism & Traders Group (Your Village, My Village, Their Village, Our Village)

Until recently there have been two separate Groups in the village working with the objectives of increasing the Tourist attraction of Audlem, and of increasing the footfall of people using the local businesses. These two objectives are closely aligned.

To thrive, Audlem needs to continue to attract residents and visitors alike to spend time in the village – their spending power is what makes our community viable.
Audlem is remarkable in the number of shops, pubs, cafes and other business that it has in a relatively small village, and only use of them keeps them going – so – the two separate Groups have decided to join forces as 'The Audlem Tourism & Traders Group' to promote local businesses, community activities, its close proximity to the Shropshire Union Canal and the many and varied leisure activities that this offers.

The Audlem Tourism & Traders Group will inherit the mantra of the old 'Community Projects Group' that was formed under the chairmanship of the late Bob Cartwright who did so much towards the implementation of the issues that were identified by the Parish Plans of 2005 and 2010.

The newly formed Group is in the process of producing an Audlem Welcome Pack aimed at new residents and visitors alike, designed to ensure that people know what is available in our Community and how those wishing to do so, can become volunteers of the future. Sponsorship for the production of the Audlem Welcome Pack has been very encouraging, and other publicity material will be created which will be available at the various Tourist Offices/Visitor Centres in the area, to potential visitors.

The Audlem Tourism & Traders Group will be addressing the issue of signage to try to ensure that visitors can find their way around the village, and will take a close interest in the potential car parking provision within the Green Lane field recently acquired by the Parish Council.
