As reported last week on Audlem Online, local MP Stephen O'Brien, who is also the Shadow Minister of Health which includes Opposition responsibility for the ambulance service, has written to John Burnside, the Chief Executive of the North West Ambulance Service, about the issues raised by Audlem residents about poor response times to emergency calls.

A reply has now been received by Stephen O'Brien from Mr Burnside, which has been passed to Audlem Online. The Deputy Chief Executive of NWAS, Bob Williams, has been asked to set up a public meeting in Audlem which he and the NWAS Director for Cheshire & Mersey will attend to discuss residents' concerns.

As soon as details of that meeting are available, they will be published. In the meantime, the issue continues to attract widespread media coverage with extensive stories in all the local newspapers this week.
