Celebrating Valentine's Day

Nothing shows that you love them like a home-cooked meal that has taken thought, preparation and your time. Now is a good time to think about what you are going to cook for your loved one this Sunday. If, as in our house, your Sundays are precious family time a special Sunday roast might be the perfect solution, otherwise if you are lucky enough to perhaps be able to guarantee a lie-in, a delicious breakfast cooked for your loved one might be just the ticket.

I am thinking Eggs Benedict – a toasted white muffin topped with a slice of succulent roast ham, a lightly poached egg & finished with a silky hollandaise sauce. Lots of eggs required for this one – we stock Ben's Eggs, they are Free-range and only £1.50/half doz.

For anyone able to find time for an indulgent meal for two – we are offering 10% off if you buy 2 of our dry aged steaks (sirloin, ribeye or fillet) together with a "Sauce Queen" sauce. This combination is an absolute favourite in our house, served simply with some French fries or a stack of dauphinoise potatoes & greens.

If you are short on time and/or have limited culinary skills, try one of our "ready-to-cook" meal ideas – a Beef Pattie with black pepper sauce are really simple to cook – just 25-30 minutes in oven and you have the base of a great & extremely tasty meal, serve with homemade chips or a jacket potato & a green salad.

These are just some ideas for your main course, I am sure a visit to LLLovely for some chocolate will sort out the dessert and of course The Flower Divas for some lovely blooms or perhaps a scented candle.

These are all my ideas – the rest is up to you!

Go ahead and spoil your loved ones this Valentine's Day
