To Big Apple with a saw and spoon

Well, what a week and a bit it's been! Firstly, I tripped and broke a spout off my teapot..then, I dropped my toast, buttered side up BUT, I trod on it, then...hold on...you don't want to hear about that nonsense, do you?

If you don't..how about this; The legendary James Watt of BBC Radio Stoke fame kindly invited me in the Studio on Thursday 22nd May for a chat about, amongst other things, my upcoming show at The Audlem Music Festival. (Many thanks to those that attended by the way..it really was overwhelming).

Anyway; because that week I had a throat infection, I didn't take my Guitar in the Studio as I would have done normally because I didn't want to strain my voice so, 'what else can I take', I thought to myself.

What else other than my 'Saw and Spoon For All Occasions!' If you're not familiar with that it's just me whacking the living daylights out of a saw by thrashing it soundly with a spoon...as you do.

So, after much fun and hilarity in the Studio, that was that (or so I thought) and the next thing was the show at The Bridge Inn car park on the Sunday, then, on the following Bank Holiday Monday, a trip to Cre8 Radio to do another interview. All good fun.

However, going back to the James Watt Show, it turns out a lady was listening to my interview...no ordinary lady though...it was none other than Natalia 'Saw Lady' Peruz from New York!

Natalia got in touch with James after our interview and, to cut to the chase, Natalia and I, yesterday, met through the air-waves to have a chat, on the James Watt Show. Me in my bedroom, James in the Studio and Natalia somewhere in New York.

To say it was interesting would be a slight understatement because I had no idea how Natalia was going to react to my 'playing' but, I needn't have worried because she took it in the spirit it was intended..fun.

Then, we played a tune together which was nice...well, Natalia sounded nice..not sure how things were my end but, after the tune had ended.....she invited me to New York to play in The Saw Festival! (not Orchestra as originally published)

I know..I can't believe it either! I laughed but then she said she was serious and I should send her my details to arrange things. This I have done and we have corresponded. So, it seems like a trip to the Big Apple is on the cards.

However, as a certain member of the AudlemOnline webteam said; *"Don't take any of your press cuttings with you!" Eeeeh...you cheeky young scamp...no New York rock for you..that's if they do New York rock over there..I know Blackpool does....

*For those of you who don't know what that means....I went to Los Angeles a few years ago and, because I took some press cuttings (one of which said I was going for a job in Hollywood and I told the Airport people I was going for a holiday) they didn't look on that too nicely and shoved me on the first 'plane out.

All of which took 3 hours...it actually took me longer to get there than I was IN there but, that was then..this is now. Now, where's that passport......
