D-Day Normandy Landings

Thursday 6th June

As many of us will be aware, this Thursday 6th June, marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

Many of us will have watched documentaries this week which have reminded us of the horrors of war, the immense blood shed and the sacrifice made by so many.

We in Audlem are so fortunate to have the Church Bells back just in time for this important occasion.

The bell ringers have been asked to ring the bells at 6.30pm on Thursday for 20 mins. (please see next article).

So this gives us all an opportunity if we are able, to gather round the memorial at St.James' while the bells ring out across Audlem, as an act of personal remembrance and respect.

Let us mark this day of bravery and sadness in what ever way we can at 6.30pm.

It is the least we can do.
