Thought of the Day

I imagine Audlem has, per capita, more societies and clubs than any other place, so the following may ring a bell with the many club secretaries out there.

On the secretary's position at the end of a day of convention:

And so, while the great ones depart for their dinner
The secretary stays, growing thinner and thinner,
Racking his brains to record and report
What he thinks that they think
That they ought to have thought.
