Ken Lee says: "Mum was always cutting out poems from magazines. I have used poetic licence and
altered 'she' to 'they' in order to be 'non-sexist'. No mention of who the writer is:

Love and Let Live

Let me not impatient be
Because they are so slow,
Let me not think secretly
I wish that they would go.
Let me listen silently
To memories of yore,
Let me not say angrily
I've heard it all before,
Let me treat them lovingly
Be kind in every way,
Because I know, and know for sure
I shall be old one day.

Ken adds: "Quite appropriate as we come up to the season of 'goodwill' and one to be carried on throughout the year, don't you think"
