Regular readers will recall that when Geoff Stretch had to attend the orthopaedic hospital at Oswestry, he was so impressed he decided to raise some money to support the facilities there. Some of the hospital's patients made him a beautiful wooden rocking horse and that was raffled off in the village and surrounding area.
Geoff has told us today that the raffle raised a wonderful £411. The rocking horse was won by a lady from Crewe – who was also in the village when the draw was made. She has a two year old child so it could be a rocking Christmas for one child tomorrow!
Geoff and Olive send their thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and congratulations to the winner.
