Wrenbury & District Model Railway Club are holding their 3rd annual Open Doors event in July.

The public are invited to visit the Village Hall, Cholmondeley Road, Wrenbury CW5 8HG between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday 1st July and 10.00am to 4.30pm on Saturday the 2nd.

The hall has parking, is wheelchair friendly and refreshments are available during this FREE TO ENTER event.

In addition to the club's 00 layout and 2 N gauge layouts that are under construction there will be:

  • A 16mm gauge (garden railway) layout running with both lights and sound.
  • A static display of 16mm live steam locomotives. Examples of Digital Command Control 00 locomotives with sound chips fitted.
  • A small layout of KATO quick assembly N gauge will be running.
  • The Fairweather collection of 00 model railway items are for sale.
  • A large selection of other model railway items for sale.
  • A complete 'almost finished' N gauge layout is up for sale, ready to 'plug and run'.
  • Die-cast vehicles for sale.
  • Railway DVDs, books and magazines.
  • Examples of wooden display cabinets and transit cases for your model railway locos.
  • We even have a wooden train set for the smaller children.

In the large hall there will be an exhibition by the Wrenbury Art Group with their pictures available for purchase.

For those staying a little longer on the Saturday the Cotton Arms, a short walk from the village hall, are offering a 2 course special lunch for just £6 per head between 12noon & 3.00pm. Booking is essential on 01270 780377 – please mention the event.
