Our Year 6 children have been working hard all week on their assessments this week. They completed their final SATs yesterday and I am tremendously proud of the way they prepared for and tackled these assessments.
Thanks to the staff and parents who have supported them in their preparations for these tests.
Three of our Year 6 girls have a special role to play in this year's Audlem Carnival as they will be part of the parade as Carnival Queen (Annie Goodwin) and Attendants (Emily Turner and Jessica Smith). I am sure the girls will do a wonderful job!
Our Year 5 children were visited by the Fire and Safety service on Monday to learn about a range of things such as how to prevent fire, the causes of fire, smoke alarm safety and the importance of having a fire plan. This was a very worthwhile visit and gave the children lots of important information about how to keep safe.
Amber class are busy preparing their drama contributions for this year's Skoolsfest which will take place on Saturday 4th July. They have been working with the Journey Man Theatre to create their own versions of local history stories and have come up with some great ideas for their performances.
They will be performing their drama work in Nantwich town centre after the massed choir 'Big Sing' which will open Skoolsfest again, as it has for the last two years. We will be sending out more details about this special celebration day after half term – please look out for it!
Parents will have received a flyer about our next planned Active Audlem for parents, children and staff earlier this week. Relatives are invited to join us for this morning exercise next Tuesday from 8.30am – I hope to see many of you there!
Don't forget that FASA will be holding their annual AGM on next week on Tuesday 19th May at 2pm with tea, coffee and cake available from 1.45pm in our school hall. Everyone is welcome; please join us if you can.

Places are still available for 2 year olds and ABC will be opening a baby area very soon. The setting is fully registered for 0-11 years. Please register your interest by emailing: abcchildcareservices@btinternet.com
I would again, like to remind all parents that the school car park should not be used to drop off and pick up children at the beginning and end of the school day. The car park gets very congested, especially with the two school buses, and cars entering the car park at these times can compromise staff and children's safety.
We currently have a shortage of casual midday assistants – people we can ring if our regular team are absent. If you would be interested in becoming a midday assistant in school, please contact the school office for further information.
It is Arts Week in school next week and Mrs Stoker (our Creative Subjects Lead) has planned a variety of exciting activities across all aspects of the arts curriculum for classes across school to enjoy – I look forward to updating you about the outcomes in next week's newsletter!
