Despite increased security, the tennis club hut has once again been opened with the use of the code number by an unauthorised person. Thankfully, unlike the previous occasions, it was not left in a mess.

However there were some items stolen; 6 junior racquets by Zsig and a large bucketful of green & yellow Zsig practice balls. If you see someone playing with practice balls or come across a junior Zsig racquet please contact one of the committee members or let Ken Maple, the village policeman, know.

Previously we have been lenient with offenders as their actions could be put down to hi-jinks but this is plain and simple theft which will not be dealt with lightly. This equipment is used solely for the younger members of the club to learn tennis. Stealing them has disadvantaged those who can least afford it.

Audlem Online adds – unlike the standard tennis balls pictured, the missing practice balls are a distinctive green and yellow.
