Telephone problems in Audlem

Rest of the World Cut Off

There have been numerous reports in chatbox and elsewhere about failures in the telephone system (both landline and mobile) throughout the village and surrounding area.

Broadband seems to be unaffected.

We seem to have a Russian Roulette phone service although Internet seems okay. Sometimes we get a dial tone and phone works, sometimes we get a dial tone and can't connect to anyone and sometimes we just get a clicking noise.

The systems in the Post Office in LLLovely are badly affected and Megan is very frustrated that she cannot offer her customers a sensible service until it is fixed.

Apparently BT have told one subscriber that the fault will be fixed by 6pm on the 23rd.

Meanwhile there are still many households in Audlem without broadband who rely on the normal phone or mobile to keep in touch.

Please help and reassure any solitary elderly neighbours who may not know about the problem.
