The closure of Green Lane will extend into next week, but I understand that the repaired drain network has been tested with good result and the next step is the 'clean up'; it is also planned to 'sweep' adjacent lanes, so badly damaged by 'displaced traffic'.
The delayed United Utilities works on the A525 Woore Road are due to recommence between Saturday 18th to Thursday 23rd November. On Friday 24th November the road will be open for the 'big switch on' but the closure is scheduled to resume on Saturday 25th November lasting until Tuesday 5th December.
Further work to replace a small section of pipe remains; this will be costed and budgetary approval sought.
I will again be visiting both Old Railway Bridge and the surrounding area early next week, to see the extent of the 'clean up' and to what extent the damaged highway verges can be addressed.
I know the Drainage Manager and his Team are grateful to those who have appreciated their determination to get the job done.
