Swallows over Audlem

Only a few days ago, letters in national newspapers were asking where the swallows were this year. A couple of years ago, swallows had arrived in Britain unseasonably early; this year they seemed later than normal.

The skies over Audlem are now suddenly full of the summer migrants. The earliest report we had of a swallow in the village was 1st April; we forgot to report it as Audlem Online was full that day of less credible tales! If you saw one earlier, do let us know – equally so when a cuckoo is heard. They don't seem to have arrived anywhere as yet judging by the lack of letters in the newspapers proclaiming one has been heard.
