We have a few Swallows in Hatherton, House Martins are missing again, despite the presence of inviting nesting boxes.
Have just seen a Red Kite over the house pursued by a possee of Crows, Don't think the two are connected, more likely linked to the demise of our insect population by farming practices over the last 40 years with the prolific relatively uncontrolled use of insecticides.

As yet none at Fields Farm but walking the dogs on a farm close to Adderley the sky was alive with both Swallows and House Martins. What has Shropshire got that we in South Cheshire lack?
