The Parish Council has been contacted by Connecting Cheshire to be advised that the final cabinet in Phase 1 of the SFBB roll-out should be live 'later in the summer'. This is the cabinet near the telephone exchange in Vicarage Lane.
It serves about 120 properties and, when connected, will mean that just over 1,000 properties in the Audlem exchange area will have the ability to upgrade to SFBB. This fifth cabinet will use a different technology solution from the other four, with the lines being connected directly to the exchange.
Phase 2 of the roll-out is a £6m 'Superfast Extension Programme which has been signed between the four Cheshire councils and BT. It will reach a further 10,000 homes throughout Cheshire. It is scheduled to begin later this year and is due to be completed by summer 2017.
The precise Phase 2 coverage will not be available until BT complete their survey and planning process, and they bring Phase 1 to a close also. Connecting Cheshire hope this will be announced later in the summer.
