Each year Oxley's Funeral Services together with our working partners, The Flower Divas, participate in a training schedule for Chester University's 'BSc Degree in Nursing' named the 'Sunset of Life Programme.'

We believe funeral flowers are a very important and emotional part in saying that final goodbye, and in light of this, we include this aspect into the training package we provide.

The programme is very comprehensive and covers all the relevant information and knowledge the Nurses would need to assist them in their day to day responsibilities caring for both their patients and their families.

The programme also covers training visits to – A Church, Cheshire East Bereavement Officer, Cheshire Police, Cheshire East Registrar, Oxley's in-house Bereavement Counsellor, Local Nursing Home and Oxley's Funeral Home.

Feedback from both Chester University and their nursing trainees who attend the 'Sunset of Life Programme' has been very positive, and they feel it gives them an important insight and a better understanding of the many facets that are involved when dealing with a bereavement.
