At the end of Spring Term at Audlem St James' school, Ralph Warburton, on behalf of the Audlem District Amenities Society (ADAS), gave out a sunflower plant to each pupil for them to grow on through the summer.

On Thursday 10th September, the fruits of their labours will be brought to school and Ralph will judge them. Then, at Assembly on Friday, he will announce the winners to the gathered 200 pupils and present the prizes.

Ralph says it's a wonderful sight to see the eager faces of the mass of pupils as each winner is applauded. Every child who managed to grow a sunflower will also receive a prize.

Ralph and the school will also determine what to grow next year as the children do so like taking part in this annual community event.
