On a lovely summers day on Saturday with the weather more gentle from the very high heat we had had on Friday, we are delighted to report that Buerton House was host to a very happy crowd who came to enjoy the music, the Irish Dancing, the stalls, the games, the teas served in china cups and saucers – and of course that most welcome English beverage, the Pimms.
A great day. A happy day. And we, the friends of Donna Louise Hospice here in Audlem, are delighted to tell all that we raised just over £1000 for their cause.
Our very sincere thanks go to all the volunteers who masterminded the day. Endless tea making, scones and cup cakes, jugs and jugs of Pimms, the wonderful playing by Val Warner, the all afternoon long music by the Hardy Perennials (aka Forlorn Hope) and the magic of Catherine Frazer's beautiful Irish dancers.
A truly big thank you to all who came and had a jolly good time .
