All season Audlem Online has been providing weekly reports of Audlem Cricket Club's games. As you will be aware, this season has been a successful one for the 1st XI, finishing second and being promoted from Division 3 of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance. The 2nd XI has had a frustrating season, at one time being in the mix for promotion from Division 5, but ultimately losing some of their potentially easier games to the weather.

The 1st XI's statistics are available and make impressive reading. Two batsmen, skipper Chris Shenton and Tom Measures, have scored over 500 runs and spinner Lyndon Woodcock has taken 68 wickets during the season. This has been the highest number of wickets taken by an Audlem bowler during a season since spinner Ray Sherratt claimed 78 victims back in 1978.

A selection of them are shown below:

Overall: played 22, won 14, drawn 4, lost 2, abandoned 2, points 369

Most runs in season: Chris Shenton – 535 runs

Best batting average: Tom Measures – 503 runs at an average of 55.89 per game

Highest score in one game: Paul Dean – 77

Highest partnership: Andy Capper and Paddy Leese 127

Most wickets in season: Lyndon Woodcock – 68

Best bowling average: Rich Brown – 44 wickets at an average of 8.80 per wicket

Best bowling performance in one game: Lyndon Woodcock – 8 for 19

We will bring you the 2nd XI statistics when they become available.
