St James' School Sports successes

Girls' football

Last Friday, Mr Griffiths and a group of parents took our girls football team to a tournament organised by Crewe Alexandra. They played in very wet and cold conditions and I know Mr Griffiths was very pleased with the effort and team work everyone showed. The team played five matches winning two, drawing one and losing two meaning they were runners up overall.

Boys 5-a-side football

Later that day, Mr Griffiths and Mrs Heathcock accompanied our Boys 5 a side team to Brine Leas where they played several matches and I am pleased to report that the team managed to secure a place in the finals of the tournament which will be held next Tuesday. Congratulations to everyone who took part and good luck in the final!

Indoor Athletics

On Monday evening, Mr Griffiths, Mrs Heathcock and an army of family supporters headed off to the Indoor Athletics final at South Cheshire College with our enthusiastic Athletics team. Once again they put in a performance to be proud of. This final was an area final and our children were competing against schools from across Crewe and Nantwich. They did tremendously well, coming 5th; getting to these finals was a great achievement for all involved – well done!

...and now the Crewe Alexandra Npower Cup

The sporting events continue this afternoon with our Boys Football team representing us in the grand finals of the Crewe Alexandra Npower Cup – we wish them lots of luck!
