St. James School Gardening Club

The afterschool Gardening Club has been delighted to be sponsored and supported this year by Boutique & Blooms and The Flower Divas, which are owned and run in the village by Samantha Burdon.

The Gardening Club was in danger of folding when the parent volunteers left the school. With support from ADAS, 4 village volunteers have answered the request for help and now, along with Mrs Spooner, run the after school Gardening Club.

With sponsorship from The Flower Divas at Boutique and Blooms, the Gardening Club now has weather station equipment to record and monitor the changing weather throughout the year, an additional raised bed, small wheelbarrow and more plants.

The children enjoy planting, watering and weeding in the garden as well as recording a log of the work carried out each week.
