This past weekend has seen momentous events taking place at Audlem Methodist Church.
The Church celebrated 150 years of worship in the current building and this was marked by four events.

This weekend also marked the retirement of our minister Rev. Andrew Gunstone, after 15 years of service at Audlem where he has been responsible for many innovations – from new services, new website, refurbished premises, new book club, Sunday and Wednesday lunches for our more elderly, Holiday events for our more elderly community friends and also school children and many other activities which have flourished under his leadership.

The 150 year celebration commenced on Thursday evening with a video of the musical staged in February " The Story so Far--" about the last 150 years of the Church and community.

This was followed by a celebration meal in the Church Hall where a wonderful meal was provided by the ladies with beautifully decorated tables to a 150 year theme.

Alongside this an exhibition was produced covering mementos and memories of the 150 years of the Church, our community and major world events. It featured people of all ages in the Church or community who have been involved with the Church in some way.

The weekend concluded with a celebration service in which the previous minister Rev. Bill Seville was invited to participate. Between them Andrew and Bill spanned 30 years of the 150 years at Audlem Methodist Church!

This Service also marked Andrew's retirement with an amusing video produced by John Owen and many helpers of his time at Audlem and a presentation from a grateful congregation of a Manchester United knee tray to allow him to watch his favourite team in retirement. Our best wishes to you and Jean, Andrew, in your retirement!
