Margaret Roberts writes: "Re your news item on parking fines issued for parking in the car park! I assume the victims were parked in the centre and not within marked bays. Whilst I have no sympathy for people who park on yellow lines etc, I do think, if this is the case, that it was pretty harsh as it has been custom and practice to park up the centre of the widest bit, particlularly for using the Med Centre, for at least 25 years that I know of.

"It might have been sensible and fairer for the council to issue a warning that this practice must cease by such and such a date. What is going to happen when we hold the various festivals and events in the village when the car park is full. Perhaps the council will pay for bays to be properly marked out in this area?"
