The short ARS walk tomorrow (Saturday 28th May 2016) is a very pleasant easy 7 mile walk with just one ascent.

Jeanette Shenton says: We meet at Audlem car park at 9.30am; it is approx. 25 minutes' drive to the Wedgwood visitor centre, where the walk starts and continues on a clockwise circular route past Barlaston Hall, into Barlaston Village around Downs Bank and back along the Trent and Mersey canal. A climb of 138 metres.

The description I have says that it is 6 miles but the recce confirmed that it is in fact 7 miles.
There are 11 stiles to navigate but most are in good condition, the walk covers short lanes, fields, and tow path. It is likely to be muddy over the fields if we have heavy rain, but generally when I did it, it was fairly comfortable under foot.

Given the length of this walk we will have a short coffee stop and lunch stop for those that opt to bring lunch.

Wedgwood Visitor Centre

The Wedgwood Visitor Centre address is World of Wedgwood, Wedgewood Drive, Barlaston, Stoke-on -Trent ST12 9ER; the link to find out more about the visitors centre is https://www.worldofwedgwood.com
There is free parking at the visitors centre and I have arranged for us to park there for the duration of the walk.
There are toilets available at the visitors centre and a cafe for those that want to make use of the facilities.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
