Short-ARS on Saturday

The January short-ARS walk will be on Saturday January 30th, led by Tony Crowther.

Please meet at 9.30 on Audlem car park

This walk is just over 4 miles around Norton in Hales passing Three Old Halls. It takes in quiet lanes, field paths and a short section along the river Tern.

The three halls are Brand Hall, Betton Hall and finally Oakley Hall. If the weather is kind we will enjoy good views across Cheshire Shropshire towards The Wrekin and the Welsh hills beyond.

Parts of this walk will be slippery and wet but it is mainly on good firm tracks and lanes. There are no steep climbs but slight undulations!

We will drive to Norton and park at The Hinds Head where after the walk we might have to sample their wares!!!!

If we are walking by10am we will return to the pub between midday and 12.30

CARPET SLIPPER RATING **, ie 2 stars (but 3 if very wet).

All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry water (and snack if required) and be suitably fit for the walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of ARS are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
