Susan Cavill is leading the next Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) walk on Saturday 28th May, meet Audlem Car Park at 9 am.

Susan writes:-
This is a 5 mile circular walk between Balterley and Barthomley involving lanes and farmland.

Beginning on Dean's Lane about 1 mile from The Broughton (CW2 5PY) down the B5500. Parking is on the verge past Dean's Lane on left hand side.
We proceed down Dean's Lane turning into a farm track on the right. Then across dairy cattle country with fine views of Cheshire at its best in spring, via Hall o'th Wood , a black and white timbered house with its own lake. We continue via Mill Dale to Barthomley.
Crossing more farmland the walk rejoins Dean's Lane bringing us back to the start.

The walk has about 10 reasonably easy stiles, there is a short steep descent and a similar ascent. Young stock were adjacent to us in one field and there was a short section with dairy cows, some electric fencing and a couple of fields with knee high grass to negotiate! Since farming is ongoing this may have all changed by the time we do the walk!

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
