Ruby class welcomed their family members to share lunch on Wednesday and once again I was delighted to see so many relatives join us for this special shared lunch. As always, Mrs Hayward and her lunchtime team did a wonderful job feeding and looking after everyone as we all shared this special time together.

Amethyst class have been busy creating their own mini buildings representing landmarks in our local area as well as from around the world and I have been treated to several visits from children in this class all eager to share their super imaginative work!

They have also been putting their creative talents to work by adding their self portraits to some wonderful art boards created by some of our talented parent helpers – look out for them in the EYFS area soon!

Children in Amber class welcomed their parents to the Maths lesson on Wednesday morning and what an active lesson it was! The children showed off their data handling skills collecting the lengths of jumps of children in class and recording them as bar charts.

There was a super learning buzz as they decided how to present their data to represent it accurately and they all enjoyed sharing their learning with their visitors.

Sapphire class had lots of fun in their Forest Schools session yesterday despite the rain! They worked hard and gained lots of new skills and were all full of news at the end of their session!

Our football team have been in action this week, playing away against Stapeley Broad Lane yesterday. They drew 3-3 in a high energy game full of skill and confidence. Mrs Heathcock was very proud of their team spirit and hard work. Well done to the whole team!

A reminder that FASA's AGM meeting will be held in school on Tuesday 19th May at 2pm with tea, coffee and cake available from 1.45pm, please do attend if you can.

FASA are seeking to appoint a Marketing member of the committee at the AGM, if you are interested in this role please let the School Office know so we can let you know more.

Date for your diary – FASA's next Film Night will be on Tuesday 2nd June from 5pm- 7pm.

ABC Childcare

Thank you from the staff at ABC for all your support with their after school club activities. The children are enjoying what's on offer. Other suggestions for next half term are welcome.

Places are still available for 2 year olds and ABC are pleased to announce that they will be opening a baby area very soon. The setting is fully registered for 0-11 years. Please register your interest by emailing: abcchildcareservices@btinternet.com

Sun Safety

Whilst the sunny weather has perhaps not appeared as we much as we may have liked this week we will hopefully be seeing more of it this term and with it the need to be Sun Safe.

Please can you ensure your child has a sunhat or cap with them on hot days and where possible they wear 'all day' suncream (such as P20) to protect them throughout the day. Although we do allow children to bring suncream into school (to be kept in their school bags) our policy is for the children to apply this themselves.

Our staff can assist with squirting or spraying cream out of bottles but are not able to apply this to children. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Would You Like to Become a Midday Assistant?

We currently have a shortage of casual midday assistants – people we can ring if our regular team are absent. If you would be interested in becoming a midday assistant in school, please contact the school office for further information.

Finally

I am sending out a copy of the new school menu to all families today. The menu, which is being served in school from next week offers a wide range of tasty options for children at lunchtimes and Mrs Hayward, our school cook, has ensured that a sandwich option remains on the menu daily for any children not wishing to have a cooked meal. The new menu is also now available on the school website for your information.
