ASC Saints under 11s tasted defeat for the first time this season on Sunday. Playing Cougars, a well organised side that have not had much luck this season, the usual fluency was missing from Saints' play.

Cougars raced into a 3-0 half time lead, largely due to well worked set plays which Saints failed to defend. The Saints deserve credit for bouncing back in the second half though as two quick goals got them back in the game.

However, caught on the break when in search of the equaliser, they went down 4-2 to a delighted Cougars side.

The defeat opens things up at the top of the league. Having played 11, won 7, drawn 3 and lost 1, Saints are still leaders but if Nantwich Town win their games in hand they can draw level.

Long way to go though, especially in a league where most teams can win on their day. Next week, Saints are away to Red Dot FC
