Seaplane to the rescue?

Having been in China for the last three weeks, we've been marooned in Hong Kong for the last five days: and before anyone asks, the weather's been lousy!

After three previous false starts, we're now in the departure lounge at the airport at 11pm local time, hoping to get to Amsterdam on the first flight out from here to northern Europe. Assuming we actually take off, we've been given no promises on getting to the UK from Amsterdam.

Given the unique village spirit in Audlem, could the Audlem website team activate the Overwater Marina seaplane taxi service to divert to Holland to bring us home?

Our dog's in Grange kennels at Buerton (no doubt convinced he's been abandoned), and we'd dearly love a pint of real English beer, so any help you can arrange would be much appreciated.

And Ralph Warburton writes: "Stuck here in Spain. Best flight I can get is on 29th so have been trawling around and found a Freelander travelling back on Thursday afternoon to a ferry at 04.00 on Friday.

"Thence to Norwich whence I will seek a train to Derby to go to East Midlands airport for my lonely car – with mounting charges.

"Hopefully back from this heat of wonderful Spain to the chill of English Spring. I must be mad!"
