Yesterday, the pupils of St James' School who had grown on their seedling sunflower throughout the summer brought their plants into school. Ralph Warburton of ADAS was there to sort them out and to judge their efforts.
All in all, some 90 plants were presented to him, varying is size from a small plate to that of a dustbin lid! And the scale of their height was awesome with many reaching 10 foot and more.
At this morning's assembly, all 200 pupils trooped in and sat cross-legged before Ralph as he gave them the thanks from ADAS for all they had achieved. The obvious enjoyment in doing so was tangible by their reaction to his address.
