On Monday Ruby Class visited Carding Mill Valley to learn more about rivers as part of their topic work this term. The children spent the morning taking various measurements of the river in both its upper and lower course. In the afternoon they went for a guided walk along the hills to the reservoir where they discovered more information about the journey of a river and the geography of the area.
Everyone enjoyed the visit and learnt a lot from Tom, Ron and Clare, who were their guides for the day.
Our Garden club and Green team members have combined their efforts this week to help get the growing season off to a busy start. With the support from Mrs Hayward and Mrs Rudd Farnell Tuesday lunchtime was very productive. Carrot seeds and beetroot seeds were planted, and ground was prepared for tomato and pepper plants. We are all looking forward to the fruits of their labour being harvested for use in our school kitchen!
