David Parry reports: "Audlem St James School recently entered two teams in the Football League Community Cup for Schools Competition. The tournament is a national one with over 2000 schools taking part.

"The first stage of the Crewe Tournament was played last week with 64 teams attempting to secure one of twelve places in the Crewe Alex Grand Finals stage taking place next Friday 6th March. The two Audlem teams played magnificently and each won their group and so grabbed 2 of the twelve places!

"In the next stage on Friday, the twelve teams will be reduced to just one team who will then represent Crewe Alex at a regional tournmament, with a game at Wembley the prize after that stage!!!

Obviously, the teams still have some way to go but for a small school like Audlem to secure 2 places in the local Grand Final is a big achievement. Well done!"
