An AudlemOnline reader has contacted us with this warning.

I've just had a phone call from 'BT' offering me a percentage discount on calls and a 3-month free rental period. I recognised it as a scam straight away and played along.

They asked me to verify address, method of paying (direct debit) and then asked me to verify the bank. At that point I asked her for her name and BT phone number. She told me that I had to confirm my bank. I told her again that I wanted her name and phone number.

I then heard a click .........

I thought that you might be able to warn people via AOL.
