Scam Posing as BT Technical Dept

I have received a phone call from 0019169332426 claiming to be from BT Technical Dept, based at 81 Newgate London. He told me that they were receiving 'Error & Warning' notifications whenever I use the Internet, and he wanted me to enter a code on my computer, he said he would prove it was a legitimate call by telling me my computer licence.

When I asked him when did London start using international numbers, and how to spell his name "Dave Farnendez" (his spelling) he got all upset and called me a f-ing A-hole, and hung up.

I spoke to BT and they said it was a hoax call and there are a lot going round at the moment. I was told that one lady did as they asked and they took control of her computer remotely and stole all her information
