ADCA have been made aware of a potential scam taking place in our area. Some people have been contacted by callers claiming that their personal alarms/ telecare alarms provider is changing. They are being told they must pay the "new provider" in cash or risk being cut off.
Please remember:
BT and other legitimate providers will NEVER ask for cash or call you unexpectedly about this.
Official communication will always be in writing.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and contact your provider using their official contact details found on a bill or statement.
