This Saturday brings the return of the afternoon acoustic music session in The Shroppie Fly from 2-5pm.
As usual, there will be a fair mix of tunes and songs from all parts of the UK and Ireland.
This month will be a tad sad, as there will be no John Hardy, who passed away last month. His fiddle and hurdy-gurdy will be sadly missed. But maybe not his one-stringed fiddle!
John has been the bedrock of folk music in the village since time immemorial (well at least 30 years to my knowledge), always encouraging newcomers to have a go.
Many a glass will be raised to his memory.
Next month there will be no session as the annual bagpipe and hurdy-gurdy day (of which John was one of the originators) will be taking place in The Fly, 12-5pm.
Come down then to experience something quite different to the usual Saturday afternoon session.
