A friend of Father Christmas writes: "Santa is here and over Friday and Saturday he toured Buerton and Hankelow and then into Audlem on his sleigh meeting all the children – old and young – as he was helped by his team of Elves.

"He greeted all in Corbrook Court, including a very sprightly lady who will be 103 on Christrmas Day. Lots of delicious lollies were given out and tonight he will again be out meeting the rest of Audlem and then to Cox Bank and Kinsey Heath. All in all a tour of some 12 hours in all weathers.

"Then he will be visiting the Cubs and Brownies on the 12th followed by meeting children of St James' School on the 14th and 17th. This is followed by a visit to the party for the Mum's and Tots on the 20th and the Audlem Treehouse Party on the 21st.

"He carries out one last meeting with all gathered by the big beautiful Christams tree in the Square at 7.30 pm on 21st December for the Annual Carol singing – then he is off to the North Pole to collect up all the toys and gifts ready for the World Tour.

"Happy Christmas to all."
