On Saturday and Sunday night a band of very caring men and boys travelled some 20 miles with Santa and the fabulous Sleigh. Calling at most homes in Audlem and all outlying places. Finishing at Cox Bank where the residents had switched on their Christmas lights and were all there enjoying baked potatoes in a hot brazier. This at 2100 on Sunday – in the rain.!!
A huge thank you to the brave team: .Matt Bonnell. Wayne Burrell. Sam Burrell. Paul Couchman. Ian Crutchley. Adrian Hassall. Ryan Hassall. Kev Mort. Geoff Stretch. Steve Topping. Roger Whittaker.
At present I do not have the total collected from those generous folks who gave to our cause – A hope of raising a pot of money that will be shared between local groups next year as our donation from Crewe & Nantwich Round Table. But we are hopeful; of circa £1500!!!
We finished up at the Lord C where a glass was raised to ourselves. Damp – but having enjoyed the task. And all said they would be there for Christmas 2019.
