Firstly, a great vote of thanks to the Round Table for supplying the sleigh and elves, and an even greater thankyou to Geoff Stretch for leading Rudolf (the tractor!) around the mazes of Audlem and environs over the 2 nights.
On a cold Saturday afternoon, I left my house at 1630 to drive to the Lord Combermere and to get into character for the night's drive in the Round Table Sleigh .
A big band of elves turned out and we were all ready for the off by 1705. Geoff Stretch led and directed our route all night as we toured all the streets, lanes, drives , roads and Ways of the village.
Then -- again on Sunday, we were back again as we covered Hankelow , Hatherton, Buerton , Kinsey Heath and Cox Bank .
So many mums and dads out with their bright eyed children gathering as we passed along our way. Welcome warming drinks and mince pies and letters given to Santa with wish lists for gifts !
Our superb guide Geoff still directing our route and making sure all were on the sleigh as we moved from location to location.
Back at last to the Lord C and for very welcome piping hot big bowls of chips . Cool beers the order of the day . Collection we hope was good , with a fair number of doors opening to our calling. So wonderful to greet the children as they come out in their PJs.
Big thank you to all who donated and every single penny will be shared by community groups in the village .
