'SANTA 1' disappears

Chris Knibbs writes: "We had a well supported three evenings Christmas Collection on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, in and around Audlem District. We are very grateful to all those households that helped to fund local charities. Santa's Helpers, the local Crewe and Nantwich Round Table, were ably supported by ASET. Every penny collected comes back to local deserving causes.

"On Saturday evening around 8.15pm, we drew up at the Bridge Inn. While Santa was inside, somebody stole the "SANTA 1" numberplate from the rear of the reindeer powered Christmas float. Santa's vehicle with his distinctive vehicle number plate has been working around our area for 25 years with no vandalism.

"If the "SANTA 1" number plate is returned to the Bridge Inn, Santa will be able to continue his journey around the Crewe and Nantwich district and possibly visit Audlem in the future."
