Salon to the stars

Following last weekend's story that Rula Lenska stayed in Audlem for the week she was appearing in Don't Look Now at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe, we are told that the famous actress also became a client of Braids Hair & Beauty Salon.

Ms Lenska was born into an aristrocratic Polish family as Countess Roza-Marie Leopoldyna Lubienska. She has appeared in many TV series such as Minder – when she met husband-to-be Dennis Waterman – Boon, Footballers' Wives, Doctor Who, East Enders and many more. She became famous in the United States as star of Alberto VO5's hair product ads that began with her saying: "I'm Rula Lenska", despite being a complete unknown when the campaign started.

She found 'fame' again when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother with the politician George Galloway. In a role-playing task, Galloway, as a cat, pretended to lick milk from her cupped hands, while Lenska stroked his ears and moustache!

In Don't Look Now, she was appearing with actors from Emmerdale and Dr Who, Peter Amory and Nicola Bryant. We hope the theatrical credits included the phrase: "Hair by Braids of Audlem."
