In difficult windy conditions Saints took on The Cougars U10s on Sunday. Cougars are without a win this season but they are a very committed team and the game was a tough one for Saints.

Whilst the Saints' goal only came under pressure in one move (in which the woodwork saved Saints twice!), Cougars did compete well with Saints and made life difficult. It was a credit to the Audlem boys that they kept playing their normal game knowing that a breakthrough would come. In the end a burst forward and long range shot from a defender was blocked well but the rebound fell to another Saints player. He powered it, first time, past a stunned goalkeeper to open the scoring. Late in the game, the same player pounced on a loose ball in the area and tapped in to double the lead.

2-0 was the final score and was a fair refection of the game. Audlem never looked like losing but Cougars did enough not to concede more. Saints play the same team in the reverse fixture next Sunday.
