Saints win in great style

Audlem Saints took on Wistaston on a beautiful, bright but cold day at the Crewe Alex Soccer Centre on Sunday. Saints played very well and created plenty of chances but, in keeping with recent games, the ball just wouldn't go in the net!

The first two periods passed with Saints in control but the scoreboard stuck at 0-0! The boys deserve credit though for keeping up the pressure and not allowing themselves to panic. A corner looked like evading all until a Saints midfielder popped up at the far post and vollied home to open the scoring.

That seemed to trigger something and three further goals were added quickly. Saints central midfielder got all three goals, the first two both fantastic long range,angled shots worthy of Marco Van Basten (remember him?!). He completed his hat trick and the 4-0 win with a corner kick that curled into the top corner!

Currently joint league leaders, next week Saints take on Red Dot United.
