Saints win Community Cup

Audlem Saints under 10s football tem played in the Crewe Alexandra Community Cup Tournament on Sunday and ran out worthy winners!

The tournament was one of 12 teams with the runners up and winners of 2 groups of 6 producing the 4 semi finalists. Audlem won 4 and drew 1 in the group stage and so topped the group comfortably. In the semi final they breezed through 3-0 to setup a final against Boro Boys.

Boro Boys had given Saints two close encounters in the league and so it proved here. Although always a shade on top, Audlem couldn't find the net and the dreaded penalty shoot out loomed large. However with 4 minutes to go, a loose ball was drilled home to win the final 1-0. A fantastic achievement to win the Community Cup – particularly as the trophy was won without conceding a single goal in the 7 matches played. Outstanding defending!

Just one game remains for Audlem Saints and that is the League Cup Final next Saturday at 1pm.
