ASC Saints U11 footballers played The Cougars in the South Cheshire Youth League Cup quarter final on Sunday. The match was played in beautiful conditions at The Barony and pitched Saints against the only side to have defeated them this season.

The match was a good one and saw a solid, if not spectacular, return to form for Saints. The hard work that had been missing last week was there for all to see and some good measured football created decent chances.

A goal in each half secured a comfortable 2-0 win to progress the team to the semi final stage. So, the season is bubbling up to an exciting denouement; as well as a cup semi final, Saints have six league games to play and are currently topping the league.

Nantwich Town can draw level by winning their game in hand though. There is lots of football left to play. The young Saints players need to keep working hard, play the simple football and keep calm!
