ASC Saints played in the South Cheshire League U11 Cup Final last night and lost out to Boro Boys in the dreaded penalty shootout!

The game itself was a pulsating one and had finished 4-4. Saints had flown out of the blocks to score after 20 seconds and added another a few minutes later to establish a two goal lead.

Indeed, for large parts of the game they were in front, including at 3-1 and 4-2. However, Boro Boys simply never gave up and scored twice deep into the second half to draw level.

With no further goals added in extra time, the game was decided with a shootout which Boro won 5-4. As disappointed as the boys are, a runners up medal is not to be sniffed at and they must now pick themselves up for Sunday's last league game.

A draw in that game will secure the league title for the Saints. Opponents are last night's cup winners Boro Boys – kick off is 10am (Barony pitch 4).
