Audlem Saints U9s soccer team advanced to the quarter final stage of the cup with a 5-0 win over Alsager. Playing confidently and competently in hot conditions, Audlem scored five very different goals, each by a different player.

The opening goal was a well worked passing move and a deft finish. The second came when the Alsager keeper's clearance was well controlled and smashed back into the top corner. The third was an individual effort with an Audlem player holding off many challenges on a long run before wrong footing the keeper. The fourth was a rasping low drive through a crowded penalty area. The scoring was rounded off with a delicate lob after a well executed long ball out of defence.

The win completed the group stage of the cup competition with Saints winning all three group games without conceding a goal. The knockout stages take place Sunday 18th May with Audlem facing Crewe Terriers Utd in the quarter final.
